          I flew through this 431-page book that ranges from the reign of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette through the French Revolution and Napoleon’s reign to the restoration of the monarchy in 1814.

          Pflaum, who is in her early 90s, has written several acclaimed biographies, including “Grand Obsession: Madame Curie and Her World.”
